PC Strive
Some services are provided outside of traditional schools and classrooms. Putnam City's Strive program is an umbrella program for the following:

Credit Recovery
Services are provided at Strive for special education students who have had difficulty earning high school credit in the traditional education setting. Special education students earn high school credit at an accelerated pace with specialized PASS curriculum. All special education students are engaged in either work-study or vocational school for high school credit.

Elementary & Middle School Programs
Educational services are provided at Strive for special education students who have had difficulty in the traditional elementary and middle school environments.  Students receive a modified PASS curriculum with an emphasis in social skills development.

Home Instruction

Services are provided in the home environment for:

  • Children with a disability, who are unable to attend school due to extenuating circumstances
  • Children with an illness or condition who will be absent from school at least two weeks (short-term)
  • Children with an illness or condition who will be absent from school more than 30 days (long-term)

Evening Program
The evening program offered by the PC Strive program begins at 4:45 p.m. and ends at 6:45 p.m. nightly, Monday through Friday, adhering to the Putnam City school calendar. Strive's Evening Program is a self-contained program for grades 6 through 12 serving both regular and special education students who have experienced difficulty in the traditional school environment.

Students in the evening program participate in a specialized PASS curriculum with a student/teacher ratio of approximately 3/1. Students are strongly encouraged to be employed during the day time hours or attend a vocational school. Transportation is provided to and from the Strive program.
