Upgrade and Replace Safety Equipment in High School Science Labs
In any science lab it’s important to have safety equipment and facilities in place and in good condition in order to protect students and teachers. This bond item would allow safety equipment in every high school science lab to be upgraded or replaced. Included in the improvements:
- Replacement of protective eyewear (approximately 600 pair or goggles)
- Replacement of laboratory first aid kits
- Replacement and installation of fire blankets
- Replacement of sharps containers
- Replacement of MSDS folders
- Replacement of broken goggle cabinets and replacement of UV bulbs
- Replacement of acid spill kits
- Purchase of biohazard bags and disposal containers
- Purchase of brooms and dustpans for labs
- Purchase of an autoclave at each site (biotech programs are now in place at each high school)
- Addition of sharps containers
