Install Classrom Doors at Ralph Downs Elementary School

Ralph Downs Elementary School opened in 1990, an era in which a common method of school construction was "pods" for each grade. The pods, open areas easily accessible from all same-grade classrooms, were intended as an extension of the classroom for cooperative learning activities, reading tables, science experiments and a quiet place to do make-up work. However, schools are now in a new era in which safety and security issues are paramount. Doors – doors that can be locked – need to be added to classrooms at Ralph Downs for better school security.
