Purchase Kitchen Equipment
This bond issue calls for funds to replace obsolete or poorly working kitchen equipment in schools throughout the district.
Some of the ovens, freezers, refrigerators and other equipment the district wishes to replace are more than 30 years old. In addition, some serving lines that are 40 to 50 years old need to be replaced. After such a long period of time, the wells that heat and hold food start to warp and crack from the expansion and contraction of the metal. Wiring begins to get brittle and break.
When equipment reaches the end of its useful life, it’s more efficient to replace it than to disrupt preparation of student meals.
