Textbooks

Textbooks are the primary reference material used by students to learn each subject. For the purchase of these materials, each year the state funds districts at a rate of $55 per student in the district. Putnam City’s share is usually a little less than $1 million.

While that’s a significant allocation, it still does not meet the needs for textbooks for all Putnam City students. The average textbook costs $60 to $90. Using bond money is a way to insure that there is money available to get new textbooks into the hands of our students.

Cost: $400,000
